For the remaining 3 games though the picks look fairly easy so here are my betting picks:

Boston Celtics @ Orlando Magic

The Celtics are a perfect 8-0 to start the season and what a start it has been, with the new big three of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce tearing it up night in and night out. Orlando are one of the most improved teams this year behind big men Dwight Howard and the newly acquired Rashard Lewis. Hedo Turkoglu is having a great season as well so this game should be very well contested and possibly a preview of things to come in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

At $1.91 on Betfair, I think Boston are great value bet. You can’t do anything more than win and that’s all they have been doing so this is a great price.

Detroit Pistons @ Sacramento Kings

Sacramento have won a few games but still obviously miss the point guard play of Mike Bibby. Ron Artest is back but the team play of the Pistons should be far too much for the Kings. If you want to have a bet on this game then it’s Detroit at $1.51 which I think is a fair price.

Chicago Bulls @ Los Angeles Lakers

The Bulls are an interesting team. On any night they are capable of beating the best in the NBA but unfortunately there are more inconsistent games from them than consistent ones. After a string of losses, some of them by big margins, Chicago handed down a beating to the LA Clippers @ LA last night. Tonight they visit the same scene to face the other LA team, the Lakers who have been playing some pretty good basketball despite all the Kobe Bryant trade talk.  Betting odds for this game have LA Lakers at $1.43 and Chicago at $3.25.

The odds are a bit too short for me here, I think LA will win but out of all the remaining games tonight, this one has the biggest chance of an upset which means I won’t be risking my money on this one.

Whilst Portland is the home team, they are 0-3 to start the season after losing number 1 draft pick Greg Oden to microscopic knee surgery for the season. Meanwhile the Hornets have started 4-0 including 2 wins away from home, the latest which came last night at Los Angeles against the Lakers who themselves had beaten several handy teams already.

I will be betting on New Orleans at the juicy odds of $1.64 on Betfair. It’s almost daylight robbery as the Hornets point guard Chris Paul is coming of a career and NBA season high 21 assists last night.

Betting Odds at the moment have Barcelona as favourites paying $1.23 on Betfair. The draw bet pays $7.40 and a Rangers win is worth $18.50. It’s hard to see Rangers winning away at Barcelona and the best they can hope for I feel is a draw if lucky. Barcelona have class all over the park and at home should be close to unbeatable as the price indicates.

$1.23 on a soccer match is very short, I would look to let the game run for a while and bet in-play if the scores are still level after about 30 mins. If Barcelona are up at this stage then there would be no bet as the odds will no doubt be closer to $1.05 and that isn’t worth risking any money.
